In 2024, Toyota Land Cruiser’s share of the Lebanese market will be 18.6%.
Lebanon’s new car market grew 8.5% year-on-year in H1 2024 to 12,245 units. The two biggest brands are significantly ahead of the market: Toyota is growing 15.6%, increasing its market share from 37.6% to a dominant 40.1%. Nissan (+75.7%) is doing even better, increasing from 16.5% to 26.7%. This means that Toyota and Nissan represent 2 out of 3 Lebanese sales in the period (66.8%). Mitsubishi stumbles by -12.2%, but remains in third place with a share of 7%. Hyundai (+20.7%), Lexus (+10.2%) and MG (+10.1%) also shine, while Renault (-73.9%) collapses.
In terms of models, the Toyota Land Cruiser has grown impressively by 5 times (+440.5%) to take the top spot from the still very dynamic Nissan Sunny (+35.5%). The Land Cruiser has increased its share from 3.6% to 18.1% year-on-year. The Nissan Patrol (+276.3%) has also shown fantastic growth and has climbed from 8th place and a share of 2.9% in H1 2023 to 3rd place and 10.1% now. The Nissan Kicks (+343.5%) is in 9th place, compared to 57th place in H1 2023 and 40th place in FY2023. The MG ZS (+21.2%) breaks into the top 10.
