Tesla Model 3 sales are up 4-fold year-on-year in November.
11,689 new cars found a buyer in Norway in November, a 13.2% year-on-year improvement. This is still a very poor result given November 2023 was down -47% on the year prior. It nevertheless tilts the year-to-date volume into positive territory at +0.2% to 115,039. BEV sales are up 29.6% year-on-year to 10,940 or 93.6% of the total, up from 81.6% in November 2023. Year-to-date, BEVs are up 7.4% to 102,741 or 89.3% share. Meanwhile HEVs are off -59.9% to 280, PHEVs down -83.6% to 154, petrol is at 0.6% share and diesel at 2.1%.
Tesla (+33.8%) vastly outpaces the market and reclaims the brands top spot off Volkswagen (+216.4%) even though the latter surges year-on-year. Toyota (-44.6%) is in a bad way at 7.4% share vs. 10.9% year-to-date but stays #2 so far this year for now. Skoda (+13.6%) evolves like the market at #4 while BMW (+96%) almost doubles its year-ago volume to round out the Top 5. Below, Porsche (+940.7%), Opel (+244.1%) and Peugeot (+228.6%) stand out with surreal gains.
As for the models ranking, the Tesla Model Y (-0.3%) is stable and back into first place with 12.8% share, in line with the 13% it commands year-to-date. Tesla manages a 1-2 with the Model 3 (+331.6%) soaring to #2. The VW ID.4 (+232.6%) is also in outstanding shape at #3 ahead of the Skoda Enyaq (-3.5%) and Toyota bZ4X (-6.2%) both struggling. The VW ID.7 (+560.8%) celebrates one year in market with a record #6. The BMW i4 (+482.3%), VW ID.3 (+175.8%) and Nissan Ariya (+68.9%) also shine in the remainder of the Top 10.
