New Zealand November 2024: Toyota RAV4 hits record share

by red

Toyota RAV4 share in New Zealand reached a record 12% in November.

New Zealand buyers found 15,621 new cars in November, up 7.6% on last year. However, the year-to-date figure is still significantly lower at -14.9% to 118,713. Toyota (+13.2%) almost doubles its market growth rate and reaches a share of 26.2%, its highest since 27.4%, which it reached in October 2023. The following three automakers are experiencing alarming declines: Ford (-14.1%), Mitsubishi (-12.4%). %) and Suzuki (-23.1%) show the worst results. Honda (+43.8%), Mazda (+19%) and Volkswagen (+8.6%) managed to beat the market in the rest of the top 10.

In the model charts, Toyota RAV4 (+32.3%) rose again, driven by rentals (accounting for 49% of November volume) to an extravagant 12%, a new record eclipsing the 11% it achieved last April. . Note that the rental rate is much lower than last month’s 81%. The Ford Ranger (-24.8%) is struggling in second place, but remains in pole position since the start of the year. Toyota Hilux (+31.2%) compensates for a particularly weak result last year and cannot gain more than 3.5% share versus 5.8% this year. Toyota Corolla (-13.6%) fell year-on-year, but rose 14 places in October to rank 4th with a 2.7% share, up from 1.5% year-to-date. The Mitsubishi Triton (+184.6%), Ford Everest (+52.6%) and Toyota Yaris Cross (+26.4%) stand out.

Previous month: New Zealand October 2024: Toyota RAV4 again takes first place with 10.8% share, 81% rental.

One year ago: New Zealand November 2023: Lease keeps Toyota RAV4 in first place, MG breaks ranking record with MG 4 in sixth place.
