Nissan sales in February increased 12 times compared to the same period last year.
New car sales in Cyprus rose 48.5% year-on-year in February to 1,501, according to data from our local partners SEMO Cyprus and INNOSOFT. Since the beginning of the year, this figure has increased by 32.4% to 3,027 units. Nissan (+1088.5%) is rocketing into pole position as a brand with a staggering 20.6% share, up from 13.7% year-to-date. Kia (+101.3%), which led last year and last month, fell to 2nd place despite huge year-on-year sales growth. Below Toyota (+34.1%) shines Volkswagen (+63.4%), but dropped two positions compared to last month and took fourth place. Mercedes (+273.3%) is the only additional member of the Top 10 to outperform the market. Land Rover (+178.6%), Cupra (+750%), Lexus (+333.3%) and MG (+500%) stand out below.
Among the models, Kia Stonic (+302%) confidently leads with an excellent share of 13.7%. It is followed by the Nissan Qashqai (+1080%) in surreal form, the Toyota Yaris (+18.6%) and the Nissan Juke (+1516.7%). In January, the VW T-Cross dropped three places to a still very strong 5th place, up from 14th place for the whole of 2023. Skoda Kamiq (+264.3%) rose from outside the January top 30 to about 6th place this month. . The Nissan X-Trail also rises to 8th place, with the Kia Sportage (+68.4%) and Toyota C-HR (+68.8%) firmly rounding out the top ten. The Jeep Avenger is in the top 30 in Cyprus, ranking around 11th.
