Renault (+4.4%) defied the negative market with a positive performance, bringing its share to 16.8% versus 16.1% this year. Nemesis Peugeot (-0.6%) is stable year-on-year at 13.4%, while Dacia (-6.5%) returns to its traditional third place. Volkswagen (+3.5%) also moved up one spot from last month to 4th place, while Toyota (-10.1%) dropped to 5th place. Citroen (-20.6%) is again at a dead end, stuck in sixth place. BMW remains in 7th place with a share of 4.2%, behind the other two German premium companies Audi (-8.4%) and Mercedes (-24.2%) in 9th and 10th place respectively. Skoda (+5.8%) repeats its record 8th place with a share of 3.1%. Cupra (+17.1%) and Suzuki (+1.9%) are the only ones to gain further among the top 20 brands, as do Tesla (-59.8%), Fiat (-50.7%) and Nissan (-48.2%) lost ground.

In the model ranking, the best-selling model this month was the Renault Clio (-4.9%), overtaking the Peugeot 208 (+22.7%), which showed particularly weak results a year ago. Clio sales are now just 165 down from 208 year-to-date and should take first place in the 2024 financial year as Renault sales traditionally are higher at the end of the quarter. Dacia Sandero (+7.9%) remains in third place. The new Citroen C3 IV rose 14 places in October to an all-time best 4th place, ahead of the Peugeot 308 (-29.8%) and Dacia Duster III. Event of the month: Renault 5 comes in 7th place compared to 52nd place in October when deliveries to end consumers began. This means the Renault 5 is already the best-selling electric car in the country, ahead of the Tesla Model Y (No. 11) and Citroen e-C3 (No. 21). The Renault Symbioz rises two places to a record 17th place, while the BMW X1 enters the top 20 for the first time at 20th place and the Renault Rafale enters the top 50 for the first time at 46th place.
