The Toyota Land Cruiser is the best-selling car in Iceland in November.
It’s another terrible month for new car sales in Iceland: -61% year on year to 506 units. This means year-to-date volume is down -41.6% to 9,397. Toyota (+2.2%) is defying mediocre performance and jumped to 18.8% from 13.6% this year. The podium remained unchanged in October, with Telsa falling -91.5% in second place and Kia (-36.7%) in third. Honda (+3200%) moved up to fourth place, level with Hyundai (-55.4%). Volvo (-31.7%) is up three places from last month to sixth place, while the rest of the Top 10 are ahead of the market, with Skoda trailing at -19.4% and Ford at 27.6% , Mazda – by 39.3% and Mercedes down -40%. Newcomer Xpeng moved up two places in October to a record 13th place.
In terms of model, the Toyota Land Cruiser takes first place with a fantastic share of 11.7% versus just 1.2% year-to-date. This moves away the Tesla Model Y, which has risen one place in the ranking since the beginning of the year and took third place. Model Y sales fell -86.5% in the first 11 months of the year. The Honda e:NY1 moved up to third place, displacing the Ford Explorer from fourth place. The Kia Sorento and Toyota RAV4 are equal to the Explorer.
