Kia Sorento is the best-selling car in Jordan in 2024.
Jordan’s new car market is stable in the first half of 2024 at -0.3% year-on-year to 18,614 units. Kia (+96.3%) doubles its sales year-on-year to take the top spot from struggling Toyota (-21.4%). Changan (+4,745.5%) is on a tear, growing from just 33 sales in H1 2023 to nearly 1,600 this year. Hyundai (+2.7%) remains in 4th place and Isuzu (-3.1%) in 5th, but MG (-78.4%) falls to 6th place and a 3% share, down from 3rd place and 13.7% in H1 2023. Lexus (+20.2%) is the only additional Top 10 entrant in the black.
In the model ranking, the Kia Sorento (+519.4%) has grown sixfold compared to 2023 and has taken the leading position with a share of 11.8%, which may have been helped by the new model. It overtakes the Toyota Land Cruiser (-4.6%) with a market share of 10.9%, while the Toyota Land Cruiser Pickup (-11.4%) remains in third place. The Changan E-Star immediately takes 4th place. Note that it immediately topped the ranking based on the results of the first quarter. The Kia Frontier (+38.4%) and Sportage (+81.5%) also show fantastic results below, while the Toyota Hilux (-62%) freefalls from 2nd to 7th place.
