Ford Territory rose 19.6% to 2nd place.
In the first 9 months of 2024, 92,817 new vehicles hit Kuwait’s roads, a disappointing -4.7% year-on-year decline. Brand leader Toyota’s (-16.6%) share fell to 28.8% from 32.9% last year, still well ahead of Nissan (-3.3%) with an 8.3% share. Ford (+14.2%) overtakes Kia (-5.4%) to take third place on the podium. Mitsubishi (+6.8%) and MG (+12.6%) are also defying the negative market and are struggling to outperform Chevrolet (-14.8%). Below that, Honda (+31%), Changan (+19.7%), Geely (+17.1%) and Hyundai (+14%) are impressive.
In terms of models, the Toyota Land Cruiser (-30%) confirms to be the most popular car in the country, despite a significant year-on-year drop in sales. Ford’s Territory (+19.6%) comes into a fantastic (and world-leading) 2nd place with a 3.7% share, ahead of the Toyota Prado (-7.9%), Nissan Patrol (-0.5%) and Toyota Camry (-31.1%). . Chevrolet Captiva (+0.9%) and Toyota Hilux (+14%) show positive results; Hyundai Tucson (+92.7%) closes the top ten. Below, Geely Emgrand (+509.1%) and Changan Alsvin (+100%) stand out.
