Suzuki to Capture 22.9% Market Share in Mauritius in 2024

We welcome the new BSCB Monthly Report: Mauritius. 1,300 new cars found buyers in the country in July, up 8.7% on the previous year. The year-on-year figure is up 18.5% to 9,665 units, putting us on track for a third consecutive record annual volume. Suzuki (+0.5%) remains a consistent top brand, but at 16.8% for the month, its share is eclipsed by its 22.9% year-to-date share. Toyota (+26.5%), Kia (-25.7%) and Nissan (+62.5%) ensure the Top 4 are identical to their year-to-date figures, but have very different fortunes. Other standouts include BMW (+2.4%), lagging the market year-on-year but with a 6.5% share compared to 4.8% this year, Hyundai (+33.9%) with a 5.8% share compared to 4.4% and MG, which soared 220% to enter the top 10 at No. 9. Honda (+154.5%), BYD (+450%) and GWM (+340%) also impressed below.
