Toyota Land Cruiser tops Oman’s 2024 rankings.
New car sales in Oman are up 4.3% year-on-year in the first half of 2024 to 30,390 units. Toyota (+24.6%) is well ahead of the market, achieving a whopping 54.3% share, up from 45.5% in the same period of 2023. Hyundai (-5.3%) climbs to #2, with MG (-32.2%) in free fall. Isuzu (+24.3%) is also strong, moving up three places to #4. Honda (+113%) remains the only Top 10 member in the green, as Lexus (-17.9%) and Changan (-24.9%) slide.
The Toyota Land Cruiser (+47.9%) takes pole position with a 14.3% share, down from 10.1% in H1 2023. The Toyota Hilux (+48.8%) follows closely behind with a 12.4% share, down from 8.7%. Much further down we have the Toyota Land Cruiser Pickup (-8.4%) in decline, ahead of the Toyota Fortuner (+46.4%) in excellent shape. The MG 5 (+9.1%) drops one place to #5 despite outperforming the market. The Toyota RAV4 (+123.3%), Yaris Sedan (+85.4%) and Corolla (+38.4%) all shine, with the Toyota Ace landing at #8.
