Poland October 2024: Skoda Superb, Cupra Ateca stun in market soaring +17.3%

Ateca helps raise Cupra’s share to its highest level in Polish history.

The Polish new car market showed 17.3% year-on-year growth in October to 47,013 units. This is especially pleasing given that October 2023 is already up 28% year-on-year. As a result, year-to-date volume is up 14.3% to 437,029. Toyota (+4.5%) lags the market but still has a strong share of 18.8%, just above the 18.7% it she has held since the beginning of the year. Skoda (+22.7%) and Volkswagen (+54.5%), for their part, showed fantastic results and completed the podium. In fact, the entire Top 10 is identical to the current year’s ranking. The most dynamic are Dacia (+37.6%), Hyundai (+23.2%) and Mercedes (+19.4%), followed by BMW (+14.6%), Audi (+13.5%) and Renault (+4.5%). Cupra climbed to 11th place with a record share of 3.4%, while Ford (+87.1%) and Lexus (+49.4%) took the lead.

In terms of models, the Toyota Corolla (-27.4%) maintains its lead despite a significant year-on-year loss with a 4.4% share. Toyota monopolizes the Polish podium this month, with the C-HR (+70.8%) in second place and the Yaris (+168.5%) in third. As a result, the C-HR rises to 5th place since the beginning of the year. The Kia Sportage (+17.4%) ranks fourth in the market, while the Toyota Yaris Cross (+9.8%) and Skoda Octavia (+13.5%) are weaker. The Dacia Duster (+65.7%) benefits from the new generation, finishing in 8th place, while the Skoda Superb (+107.9%) takes its second place in the year’s top ten, following 10th place in June and 9 1st place in its highest ranking since March. 2020 (No. 6). The Cupra Ateca comes out of nowhere and enters the top 50 for the first time, finishing in 11th place.
