Renault Captur became the best-selling car in Portugal in February.
Sales of new cars in Portugal rose 27.6% year-on-year in February to 20,511 units. This is a particularly good result given that February 2023 was already up 39% year-on-year. Since the beginning of the year, the figure has increased by 18% to 36,248. The brand podium is entirely French, Peugeot (+17%) easily holds the lead with a share of 12.8%. This allows Renault (+43.7%) to move up five places in January to second place, and Citroen (+124.2%) to move up three places to third. In fourth place, Dacia (+91.5%) is also euphoric, while Mercedes (+29.6%) and Tesla (+31.7%) are also ahead of the market. The only year-on-year loss in the top ten is Toyota (-10.6%). Kia (+73.3%), Nissan (+45.9%) and Opel (+32.6%) performed lower.
In terms of model, Renault Captur (+132.1%) leads for the second time in the last three months with a 4.7% share and now ranks 3rd for the year to date versus 6th for the whole of 2023. Peugeot 2008 (+35%) drops to second place, but maintains pole position since the beginning of the year. Tesla Model 3 (+340.5%) takes third place in another fantastic month, ahead of Peugeot 308 (+189.2%), Citroen C3 (+144.4%) and Dacia Sandero (+49.8%), which achieved amazing year-on-year results. . The Nissan Juke (+205.7%) and Renault Clio (+75.2%) also impress the rest of the top ten.
