UK November 2024: Mini Cooper #1, Peugeot 3008 cracks Top 10, BEVs up 58.4%


The Peugeot 3008 has entered the UK’s top ten cars for the first time.

There were 153,610 new cars on UK roads in November, down -1.9% year-on-year and the third fall in four months. However, since the beginning of the year the figure remains positive and amounts to +2.8% to 1,811,992. If you look at sales by powertrain, both gasoline (-17.7% to 70,317) and diesel (-10.1% to 9,434) fall, while PHEV (-1.2% to 15,687) and HEV (-3.6% to 19 591) limit their fall. The hero of the month was BEV, whose shares rose 58.4% to 38,581 and 25.1% versus 15.6% a year ago in November 2023. This is partly due to deep discounts. Volkswagen (-7.2%) remains at the top of the brand charts with a share of 8.1%, up from 8.5% this year. Further down are Tesla (+176.6%), Mini (+43.7%), Dacia (+49.2%) and Volvo (+35.9%). Vauxhall (-47.7%) drops to 17th place, the brand’s lowest ever ranking in the UK.

In terms of models, the Mini Cooper (+25.1%) soars to take its second monthly win since November 2021. However, this is not enough to make it into the top 10 year-to-date. Nissan Qashqai (-8.3%) moved up six positions in the ranking. finished second last month but has been disappointing since the start of the year.
