Toyota Hilux is the most popular car in Yemen in the first half of the year.
Yemen’s new car market fell 10.8% year-on-year in the first half of 2024 to 3,978 units. Toyota (-8.9%) continues to maintain a stranglehold with a whopping 94.4% market share, down from 92.4% a year earlier. Lexus (-11.9%) remains flat at 1.9%, while Suzuki (-11.5%) moves up one place to close the podium. Toyota Hilux (-5.6%) holds on to the top spot ahead of the Toyota Land Cruiser (+11.6%), which has left the Toyota Land Cruiser Pickup (-61.7%) in freefall. The Toyota Fortuner (+51.1%) and Prado (+14%) round out the top five in solid form. The Lexus LX (-24.1%) is the only non-Toyota model in the top 13, coming in 9th.
