Form Six in New South Wales relates to motor vehicle dealerships and used cars yards selling second hand vehicles with known damage.
The intention of this form is to protect the dealership from warranty claims made against it when selling a vehicle that has blatant and obvious panel damage or water damage.
The form is effectively the purchaser accepting that they know and understand that the vehicle they are purchasing has this damage and as such cannot seek warranty or a refund because of these defects.
Unfortunately used cars yards in their usual slimy manner are taking this one step further and using it to get away with selling vehicles with known mechanical faults or in some cases are using it on all vehicle sales so that they a never held accountable for any warranty repairs.
When buying a second hand vehicle from a dealership or a used car yard make sure you read any form you are handed and asked to sign and in the case of form six make sure it is filled out before you sign it.
