20% of Russians are thinking about buying an electric car

The research center of the Superjob portal found that 20% of car owners in Russia are thinking about buying an electric car.

Interesting data was obtained during a survey of 1,600 motorists. 20% of respondents noted that they are thinking about an electric car, although 64% of respondents are not yet ready to replace the internal combustion engine with electric traction due to the lack of charging infrastructure in Russia.

Interestingly, the level of interest in electric vehicles is higher among Russians with higher income levels. Among respondents with a monthly salary of up to 30 thousand rubles. Only 9% of respondents are considering the possibility of purchasing an electric car, and among respondents with an income of over 80 thousand rubles. per month – already 22%. The most typical preference for electric cars is among car owners aged 25-34 years – 27%.

It is interesting how these statistics may change with the introduction of new measures to support electric transport in Russia. To date, there are no benefits for owners of electric vehicles at the federal level. Let us recall that in the future the Russian government promises the abolition of transport taxes and free parking for environmentally friendly vehicles, as well as the construction of 150 thousand charging stations throughout the country by 2030.
