As reported by Kommersant, the Russian Government has approved an almost doubling of support for environmentally friendly cars. The budget aimed at support increased from 418 to 803 billion rubles.

More than 181 billion of this amount will be collected in the form of import duties and recycling fees, and the proceeds will be used for preferential lending and leasing of electric vehicles.

In addition, the program provides for the development of the production of electric vehicles in Russia – in 2024 it is necessary to produce 28,000 cars powered by alternative energy, and by 2030 this number will increase to 217 thousand units. By the way, in 2025, only those cars that will be produced only with localized batteries and electric motors will be recognized as Russian electric vehicles.
