Volvo plans to increase the range of its electric vehicles to 1,000 km
07/14/2021
As reported by thisismoney.co.uk, Swedish manufacturer Volvo is working to provide a range of 1,000 km for its electric vehicles. It is planned that the result will be achieved by 2030.
For such a range, the company will have to develop new batteries. Volvo plans to work on them together with Northvolt – a joint venture agreement has already been approved, and battery production will begin in 2026. It is expected that this is when Volvo electric vehicles will begin to be equipped with improved batteries.
It is curious that in some countries and cities, such battery efficiency will allow car owners to charge their cars once a month or even less often – according to the same thisismoney.co.uk, the average UK resident drives about 32 kilometers in personal transport every day.
