Why City Leaders Should Future Proof Their City with EV Charging

Transportation is one of the main causes behind CO2 emissions, accounting for about 29% of total U.S green house gas emissions, air pollution, and the associated public health issues. Although, green house gas emissions have decreased by 15% in 2020, now is the time for cities to embrace a cleaner tomorrow and future-proof their city with electric vehicle (EV) charging.

We’re seeing more public policies at the federal state and local levels pushing in the same direction and major automakers, like General Motors, have details plans to electrify large portions of their fleets, with some announcing goals for fully electrified lineups in five years.

While EV adoption and EV charging continues to grow, there are cities and governments who have yet to adopt electrification or considered installing EV charging.

As cities and municipalities continue to be the forefront of electrifying transportations, it presents an opportunity for cities to market themselves as leaders and make a lasting impact by reducing green house gas emissions and providing sustainable solutions.

By installing electric vehicle charging stations at strategic points throughout the city, city leaders can provide a valuable service to their residents and visitors.
